Nearby Daffin Park  is known for its 8o acres of park with a dozen tennis courts, playground, swimming pool, football field and basketball courts and a lake with spray fountains and public areas. Grayson Stadium, home of the Savannah Bananas baseball team is also located in Daffin Park. Daffin Park was designed in 1907 and features ancient oaks and relaxing vistas.

Midtown links downtown to the Southside via Victory Drive, a 19.8 mile stretch of urban highway that was constructed in 1919 and serves as a memorial to honor WWI soldiers who died in combat. Palmetto trees line the boulevard as a reminder of those who served.

Midtown is the location of Memorial Health University Medical Center and St. Joseph Candler Hospital, two of Savannah’s three hospitals. The Midtown area is also populated with medical campuses, pharmacies and laboratories.
