Location! Location! Location!

Midtown is convenient to all Savannah area attractions and is within minutes to all areas of the city and the islands. Savannah real estate development in the Midtown area began in the 1930’s with Ardsley Park being the first Savannah subdivision. Ardsley Park and the neighboring Chatham Crescent feature many Victorian homes are on the National Register of Historic Districts.

Nearby Daffin Park  is known for its 8o acres of park with a dozen tennis courts, playground, swimming pool, football field and basketball courts and a lake with spray fountains and public areas. Grayson Stadium, home of the Savannah Bananas baseball team is also located in Daffin Park. Daffin Park was designed in 1907 and features ancient oaks and relaxing vistas.

Midtown Savannah links downtown to the Southside via Victory Drive, a 19.8 mile stretch of urban highway that was constructed in 1919 and serves as a memorial to honor WWI soldiers who died in combat. Palmetto trees line the boulevard as a reminder of those who served.

NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE

Where The Locals Go

Midtown is the location of Memorial Health University Medical Center and St. Joseph Candler Hospital, two of Savannah’s three hospitals. The Midtown area of Savannah real estate is also populated with medical campuses, pharmacies and laboratories.

Enjoy activities through the City of Savannah and neighborhood churches. Volunteer opportunities are available through the hospitals, Hospice Savannah, the city of Savannah and various benevolent organizations. Enjoy the same recreational offerings of Savannah, with golf, tennis, boating and other activities available within a short drive.

Where The Locals Go
Baker’s Pride Bakery – We’re kind of a fan of their donuts.
Sunny Side Up – Best Midtown diner.
Sweet Potatoes Kitchen – It’s just good!
Kayak Kafe – Fresh food and outdoor dining.
Latin Chicks Restaurant – Our new favorite.
The 5 Spot – The perfect spot for a quick bite to eat. Be it breakfast lunch or a late night snack. One of our favorites!
Barberitos – A lot of people do the burrito, but they do it really well.
bar · food – Great local hangout.
Bella’s Italian Cafe – They make a great pizza.
Yia Yia’s Kitchen – A hidden treasure. Great little neighborhood Greek bakery and grocery.

COMMUNITIES

The Midtown area of Savannah is home to many different neighborhoods. Each has it’s own vibe and feel, but most share a similar vain. Here are some of our favorites:

KENSINGTON PARK – Known for it’s curvilinear streets and the famous neighborhood pool.

FAIRWAY OAKS – Kensington’s neighbor to the west. Very similar in architectural styles and overall feel.

GREENVIEW – This is where Mid-Century Modern and tons of square footage meet.

OAKDALE – Just south of Kensington, this neighborhood offers a more affordable alternative.

MAGNOLIA PARK – Jump over the Truman Parkway and find the hidden jewel of Magnolia Park.

BLUEBERRY HILL – The other half of Magnolia Park and equally delightful.

HABERSHAM WOODS – A series of dead-end streets off of Habersham Street create this community. Known for it’s stunning architecture, ample size homes, and some Mid-Century Modern details.

JACKSON WOODS – One block south of Habersham Woods and tucked behind the YMCA
