SELL HOUSES. HAVE FUN. GIVE BACK.

We are 100% committed to our community and being boots on the ground in times of need, offering financial support where we can, and mostly being a part of the bigger community we live in. We care about our clients and their goals. It’s more than just a transaction or a sign in the yard. Every client of ours is a person with a life and dreams. Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a home you love, or building wealth for your family by investing in real estate, we are here to be your guide. And along the way we will introduce you to some of our favorite local organizations so that together we can make a difference in our community.

Team Callahan Cares – Making a Difference in Our Community

Team Callahan Cares Fund

As you know, we are huge believers in giving back here at Team Callahan. In 2016 we launched a new initiative where at the end of every closing, we make a donation to the Team Callahan Cares Fund. At the end of every month, we donate that money to a different non-profit organization in town. It’s lead to some great conversations and more awareness for these organizations. We call that a win-win! We announce each months non-profit at the end of the month on our Instagram, Facebook, and blog!

Our Projects

We believe in giving where you live and that starts in our own neighborhood. Each month, we host First Friday Clean Up where we (and some amazing neighbors and volunteers) help us to pick up trash on the streets in the neighborhoods around our office. It’s simple and an easy way to give back. We’d love to have you join us!

Stop by our official Little Free Library right outside our office next time you’re looking for a book or want to donate some of your extras. We have people stopping by all the time and we love it! Plus, our friend Panhandle Slim did some sweet custom artwork for our book box.

Each year we coordinate a Neighborhood Food Drive to benefit the I Am Food Pantry at St. Michael’s church (right next door to our office). And each year, this food drive has grown larger and larger. What began in 2015 with 1,800 homes has since grown to over 3,000. Our team and a handful of volunteers supply the man power to assemble, deliver and pick up the bags. We hand deliver each bag to the door of each house in the neighborhoods surrounding our office and then return a couple weeks later to pick up the filled bags.

Organizations We Love!

DEEP CENTER

Deep Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides free, fun, and rigorous writing workshops for public school students in Savannah, Georgia. We connect kids with a thriving community of writing mentors—local authors, poets, and journalists—to help them share their stories. Deep Center takes an in-depth approach to literacy by challenging young people to engage with language and their stories through writing, reading, and performance. We help them write and express themselves with skill, confidence, and courage, and we showcase their best work through publication and in live venues. We are excited to add Deep to our Giving Back campaign in 2018 and look forward to working together throughout the year!

OSSABAW ISLAND FOUNDATION

The Ossabaw Island Foundation, through a public-private partnership with the State of Georgia, inspires, promotes, and manages exceptional educational, cultural, and scientific programs that are designed to maximize the experience of Ossabaw Island, while minimizing the impact on its resources. The Ossabaw Island Annual Fall Pig Roast and Art Auction is the only annual fundraiser hosted by the Ossabaw Island Foundation (TOIF). Funds raised go to support TOIF. We’ve always loved Ossabaw and are proud to support the Annual Fall Pig Roast. See you in October!

CHATHAM-SAVANNAH CITIZEN ADVOCACY

Citizen Advocacy is built on one-to-one, freely given personal relationships between two people. One is a person with a developmental disability who has often been excluded from typical community life, and the other is a person who is living a good, ordinary life here in our community. We love supporting this great grass-roots organization and look forward to the annual covered dish supper each Spring. It’s always a great mix of people from all walks of life and definitely an event not to be missed!

FORSYTH FARMERS MARKET

The Forsyth Farmers Market was conceived and planned to provide all members of Savannah’s community a welcoming, inclusive place to purchase local food and address food access issues. Despite some logistical challenges, Forsyth Park was chosen because it is a beautiful, public place in Savannah where everyone feels welcome. The market is open on Saturdays at the South end of Forsyth. Be sure to stop in and check it out! Being a sponsor is a great way to show Savannah that we support healthy eating, local economies, and food education.

KW RED DAY

Red Day (Renew, Energize and Donate) is an initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to giving back and improving our local communities. Each year, on the second Thursday in May, tens of thousands of associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of projects, devoting their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve. Some of our Savannah projects have included the Fresh Air Home on Tybee and the West Broad YMCA.

KW CARES

Established in 2003, KW Cares is a 501(c)(3) public charity that raises money through Keller Williams offices across North America, in order to provide emergency financial assistance to any member of the KW family in need and other charities aligned with the mission and values of Keller Williams Realty and KW Cares. Part of the KW culture is giving where you live. Making a contribution to KW Cares with each transaction is a simple way we can help our KW family.

SURFERS FOR AUTISM

Each September we participate in the Surfers for Autism event on Tybee. SFA began in 2007 when a simple idea was presented to a small group of South Florida surfers by a member whose life and family have been touched by autism. “At a SFA event, our surfers are provided a safe environment where two to four highly skilled and trained surf instructors carefully guide them into waves. Our surfers and their families are treated like rock stars and enjoy a day filled with a range of activities including stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, live music, face-painting, games, bounce houses, fire engine tours and much more.” We are honored to be part of the Tybee event as a sponsor and as volunteers. It is a simple way we can give back to our community and support such a worthy cause.

SAVANNAH PRIDE

As the true Hostess City of the South, Savannah has shown and reinvented herself many times over. With such an eclectic setting of individuals and places, Savannah is one of the most intriguing and beautiful backdrops for any organization. With that, The Savannah Pride Organization is proud to call this historic city home. With over ten years of celebration, awareness, and unity, SPs mission of unity through diversity, and social awareness has helped promote the well-being of the LGBT community in the South. Don has been giving back and a supporter of Pride since Day ONE!
