Unforgettable July 4th Celebration!

Savannah’s Waterfront is thrilled to announce their annual Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 4, 2024. This free event promises a day filled with music, patriotism, and spectacular fireworks. Mark your calendars and prepare for an evening you won’t want to miss!

Musical Performances by the 3rd Infantry Division Band

Starting at 6:30 pm, the 3rd Infantry Division Band from Ft. Stewart in Hinesville, GA, will take the stage. Known as the “Best Band in the Land,” this 40-member unit showcases a variety of musical groups. This year’s Independence Day performance will feature:

  • New Orleans Styled Brass Band: Bringing the lively and soulful sounds of New Orleans to Savannah.
  • Rock Band: Energizing the crowd with classic and contemporary rock hits.
  • Concert Band: Offering a repertoire of patriotic and traditional concert pieces.

The 3rd Infantry Division Band is a distinguished ensemble, frequently performing at military and civilian events throughout Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield, and the surrounding communities. As goodwill ambassadors, they have graced stages across the Southeast United States and around the world, including Africa, France, Italy, Central Europe, Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Spectacular Fireworks Display

The highlight of the evening, our annual Independence Day Fireworks Show, will commence at 9:30 pm. This dazzling display over the Savannah River will last approximately 20 minutes, lighting up the sky with vibrant colors and stunning patterns.

Tips for a Great Viewing Experience:

  • Seating: Bring your chairs and blankets to set up a comfortable spot along the waterfront.
  • Coolers: Please note that coolers are discouraged.

Important Information

  • Road Closures: River Street and the ramps will close at 6:30 pm. Vehicles parked on the ramps and in parking lots must remain until the street reopens to vehicular traffic after the show.
  • Location: The fireworks will be launched from a barge in the Savannah River, directly in front of the Savannah Convention Center.
