You just bought your home, congrats! One of the questions we receive from buyers is, “How do I set up my utilities?”.  Here, we will walk you through the steps. The process is straightforward, although it might be a little time consuming- but after that, you will be comfortable in your new home!

In order for the services to be set up, you would need to provide the following: 

  • Copy of the Settlement Statement
  • Valid Government Issued picture identification

Depending on where you live, you will need to access that location’s government page. 

For the City of Savannah water, sewer, and trash services, you would need to go to the Utility Services section of the City website. Once there, you will find the “How to Set Up Service” page, where you will find an application form. The link can be found here,

For Pooler you can access their page at Under Departments, Utility Billing, you will find a step by step guide on how to set up your utilities. 

For Chatham County, you can access their step by step guide in this link

For Richmond Hill, you will find their utilities page at this link  

Georgia Power is the main power supplier for the area. You can start and stop service at your residence via their online portal at or by calling 888-660-5890
