1) Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family
We are the Quackenbushes, but many of our friends call us the Quacks. Taylor, Katie, Noah (4), Grady (1.5) and Kirby our labradoodle. We moved from the west coast almost 4 years ago and never want to leave. Taylor is a regional sales manager and Katie works from home in social and digital marketing. The kiddos go to the JEA and we love it there for a school community, and as our gym.
2) What do you love about living in the neighborhood?
We love how easy it was to meet and connect with our neighbors, that are now our adopted family. We appreciate how we are walking distance to several parks and Banana’s games. All of our kid’s birthday parties are in our yard, and we love how many of our friends all bike over to hang out whether it’s for a celebration or just to drop by and say hi. Taylor and Kirby love running around the neighborhood and Daffin. And we do a lot of meet ups with other families from school or church at Hull.
3) What is your family’s favorite way to spend a Saturday in Savannah?
Taylor is big into gardening, so you’ll find him in the yard working on something. The boys are happiest playing outside so playdates at the park or going to the river for a ride on the boat is one of our favorites. The Railroad Museum and Children’s museums are also a great go -to spot for activities with the littles. Katie finds any and every reason to grab coffee and a pastry and one of the many local coffee shops.
4) What is your favorite local restaurant and your go-to orders?
If we go out with the kids, Midtown Bar & Grill in Habersham village is a crowd pleaser. We love their specials, and their smoked sausage dog… it can’t be beat. If we get to go out for breakfast or lunch, I’ll always opt for Troupial. I can’t pick a favorite food item or coffee beverage because every single thing is SO GOOD. But try their arepas… any arepa, you’ll love it.
