BIKING IN SAVANNAH

The best way to explore this beautiful city is by biking all of the different areas – from downtown to the beach, there is no shortage of places to bike! See our favorite biking places and important biking information in the links below.

Biking

Tom Triplett Park, located in Pooler, has plenty of opportunity for biking, whether it be off-road or on the paved trail. While you’re here, be sure to throw a round of Frisbee golf, play some tennis on their courts, or even fish off of the dock. We’re sure you’ll have a nice afternoon here!

The 6-mile McQueen’s Island Trail is built on a stretch of the Savannah & Atlantic Railroad line. Along the trail, there are tons of places to take a break and enjoy a picnic. You may seem some wildlife while you’re out, including the eastern box turtle, American alligator, diamond back terrapin, bobcat, osprey, red-tailed hawk, brown pelican or dolphins!

Savannah Bicycle Campaign is established to help the biking community in the area be safe and fun! Many people believe that bikes are not safe on the road, so they are out to develop better bike routes in Savannah through bike lanes, racks, and signs!

Biking - Perry Rubber

If you need to purchase a bicycle, have yours fixed, or simply rent one while you are here, then Perry Rubber Bike Shop is definitely the place to go. They have been serving the downtown area since 2010, and the building where they are located was a bike shop in the 1920’s too! A great way to meet other locals is through the Saturday morning rides that leave out of Perry Rubber Bike Shop. The rides usually meet up at the shop around 8AM, and divide out into different rides – so take your pick!
