Exhilarate and DEFY
These are two awesome indoor trampoline parks/activity zones where the kids can go and get all their energy out. They is a ton of stuff to do to keep them occupied and for you parents waiting there are food and drinks!
Georgia State Railroad Museum
This Museum is super cool, especially if your child is into trains! It is right downtown so conveniently located. It is apart of Coastal Heritage Society and there are a bunch of other cool museums that you can check out in Savannah that are kid oriented.
Forsyth Park
Smack dab in the middle of Savannah is the beautiful Forsyth Park. It features two awesome playgrounds as well as a bunch of open field for the kids to run around. Luckily Collin’s Quarter Forsyth is right there so if you need a little snack or a pick-me-up coffee you can grab one right there. On Saturday mornings there is also the Forsyth Farmers Market, which is fun to bring your kids to!
Oatland Island Wildlife Center
This is a super awesome place to take your kids. They have all kinds of animals from cougars to wolves, coyotes, snakes, owls and Alligators, oh my! It is open rain or shine and it is very affordable (Adults $5, Children $3 Admission).
Starland Yard
Starland Yard is an awesome outdoor beer garden that is super kid friendly! They have rotating food trucks, wood-fire pizza, fun things to do for kids like cornhole, and of course beer! They host events pretty often so make sure to check out their website to see what is coming up!
Tybee Island
Of course there is Tybee Island with tons of things to do! Take your kids out to the pier, the North Beach Lighthouse, back river beach, the Maritime Center, and the Crab Shack (where the kids can feed alligators!). There is so much to do on Tybee it would make for a great day trip, it is about 25 minutes from Downtown Savannah.
Henny Penny Art Space & Cafe
If you’re looking to get a little work done or kill some time on a rainy day, this is a great option! Enjoy yummy coffee and pastries and your kids can go do arts and crafts in the back.
The Pirate’s House
ARGHHH!! Right Downtown is the Historic Pirate’s House. Take your kids there for a nice history lesson and food. It is a really fun time and it is one of the oldest, if not the oldest building in Savannah.
Telfair Children’s Art Museum
This is brand new to the Telfair Museum! Again something really awesome to take your children to (while escaping the hot summer heat). It is a little bit more culturally eyebrow than other children’s museums. This is also right downtown and you can enjoy a nice snack/lunch afterwards at Wildflower Cafe.
Fort Pulaski National Monument
Fort Pulaski is on your way out to Tybee and is an old Civil War Era Fort. You can explore this historic fort and learn about some history! Try to find where all the old cannons are.
