MENTORS – Sometimes in life you know what you want and you seek it out. And sometimes in life the best things come when you least expect them. I often say that real estate was the best career I never saw coming, but what I really mean is that Don Callahan was the best human I never saw coming.
What started as “just a job” has today grown into a career beyond my wildest dreams. And that’s because of Don. He’s gone from boss to friend and business partner. We are family. He mentored the hell out of me during my 20s and taught me how to be a better human, how to do this thing called real estate, and how to travel like it was my second job.
Earlier this week we pulled off a pretty sweet surprise party to celebrate his 25th anniversary in real estate. (If you don’t know, real estate years are like dog years. Very few people make it that long in this career.) The surprise party might have also been a little payback for that surprise party he threw for me back in 2017.
But the best part of that night was looking around the crowd of friends, family, clients, and fellow agents who were there because of him. Every person there had a story about how he had impacted them or helped them.
You just never know the ripple effect one life can have. To say I’m honored to ride shotgun with Don would be an understatement. Here’s to many more years in real estate!
Thank you to all who came out, here’s some photos from the night!
